Energy revolution: affordability

The provision of sufficient international transmission capacity creates value for the entire European community. The electricity markets become thus more competitive: consumers get access to electricity at the lowest possible costs and European resources (hydro, wind, gas, etc.) can be used at their best. That strengthens the competitiveness of the industry and the European society in general.

The development of new electricity transmission infrastructure is therefore a key for the European electricity market in order to provide a sound platform for competition, for the integration of rapidly growing shares of renewables and for keeping a high level of security of supply at the best possible price.
